MIKI Craft in Nami introduces the inaugural chapter of Project MERANDI Craft. Handwoven from coastal pandanus by local artisans in Trang, southern Thailand, the bag reflects a deep connection between material, place, and human skill.
Each pandanus strand is dyed by hand before weaving, allowing for a distinctive double-ombré effect. This meticulous process creates a layered, pixelated, and dimensional surface unique to each piece. Named Nami, meaning “wave” in Japanese, the blue tonal shifts evoke the meeting of sea and shore — traditional coastal craft reimagined through a modern silhouette.
Designed for versatility, the MIKI can be carried by the top handle, styled as a clutch, or worn with the detachable adjustable shoulder strap.
To maintain its intended silhouette, we recommend avoiding overfilling or placing irregularly shaped items inside. The shoulder strap offers a distinctive styling option; please refer to the final product image for guidance.
Please note: Each piece is unique. Pixelated patterns and colour tones may vary due to the natural dyeing process.
