ABOUT US
MERANDI is a Bangkok atelier founded by long-time friends, Kate Socatiyanurak and Grace Tungpanitansook.
The two co-design every object, bringing different instincts to the same process. Kate, a graduate of the London School of Economics, is drawn to structure, precision and restraint. Grace, with a background in communications and culinary arts, brings a more intuitive eye shaped by culture, colour and discovery.
Their contrast defines the MERANDI world: architectural and instinctive, considered yet open.
"Each object begins with behaviour — how it is carried, worn or adjusted — and is reduced until only the essential remains. The result is a quiet form with many possibilities built into it."
Materials are chosen for character rather than origin, from Italian leather and Madagascan materials to Southern Thai craft, often in collaboration with independent craft communities and women-led makers.
MERANDI does not prescribe a single way to wear an object. It leaves space for the wearer to make it their own.
